What Makes Us Unique

We believe that the Greater Stamford Toastmasters club offers opportunities not found in most other Toastmaster clubs, including:

Size
As of March, 2004 we were the largest public club in Connecticut! (Club Stats), and one of the 25 largest clubs in the world! Our size allows for a large diversity in speakers, resulting in a wider range of feedback for member speeches.

Frequency
In addition to being one of the largest clubs in the world, we are one of the only clubs that meets every week  (holidays and holiday eves are the only Tuesdays we don't meet.)

Technology
In keeping with the high tech nature of Stamford itself, the club offers a host of technological tools; in the past the club has offered videotaping and digital sound recordings of members' speeches. Although we may not have all these gadgets at the present time, we are looking to acquire them in the not-too-distant future.

Educational Resources
Stamford offers a host of educational resources, such as acting classes held at the Stamford campus of the University of Connecticut. Other educational opportunities close by include the Norwalk Community College or even NYU and Columbia in Manhattan - just an hour away by train. Check our Educational Resources page for additional details.

Club Management
The communication to members of the club is done through our Yahoo Group, which allows members receive emails about upcoming meetings and other club news. Yahoo Groups also allows our members to receive email at their preferred level: individual messages, daily digests, special notices or no email at all.

The schedule, club communications, and the unique special events of the club are administered by the current club Executive Committee (Officers).
