CTM

Competent Toastmaster

An award a member of Toastmasters receives after they complete all 10 project speeches in the Communication & Leadership Manual. Each project focuses on one of the basic skills of making a presentation and builds upon skills learned previously.

ATM

Advanced Toastmaster

After completing all the projects in their Communication &Leadership Manual. The Toastmaster has two educational tracks to choose from: an communication track, which will further develop your speaking skills or a leadership track which develops your leadership skills. If the member chooses the communication track, then the member selects two of the fifteen Advanced Manuals currently available. When the member completes all speeches in both manuals,(five speaking assignments in each) they earn the ATM-Bronze recognition. When the member completes two more and also presents two modules from the Successful Club or Better Speaker Series, they earn ATM-Silver ... two more manuals + two more modules AND coaches a new member through the first three speeches, the member earns ATM-Gold.

CL

Competent Leader

The CL is the first level in Leadership Track. To earn the CL designation, a member must have earned the CTM Award, must serve at least six months as a Club Officer,attend District-sponsored Club Officer training, participate with the other members of the Club's Executive Team to produce the Club Success Plan, and present two 10-15 minute modules from the 'Successful Club Series' or the 'Leadership Excellence Series'.

AL

Advanced Leader.

To earn this designation, a Toastmaster must have earned the CL Award, and must also: serve as a District Officer; complete the High Performance Leadership Program (a self-paced hands-on program which develops Project Management skills); and serve successfully as a Sponsor or Mentor for a new Club, or Specialist for a Club that needs to rebuild membership.

DTM

Distinguished Toastmaster

This is the highest recognition available in the Toastmasters program. When a member has completed the Communication track and earned the ATM-Gold and has completed the Leadership track and earned the AL, the member is awarded DTM recognition. Many have tried....

Distinguished Club Program

The Distinguished Club Program is a system that Toastmasters International uses monitor and measure a club’s achievements in these two critical areas: educational awards (CTMs, ATMs, CLs, etc.) and membership. BDCP

Best Damn Club on the Planet

The designation being worked towards every week at the Greater Stamford Toastmasters. Coined by our 2003 Club President, James Jorasch, "The Best Damn Club on the Planet" not only represents the club’s new by-line, but also embodies the goals the club strives for at every meeting!
