The Community Room is in the Equity Office Tower building next to the Stamford Marriott (image to the right). The building is a five story structure and
is primarily gray/glassy in color. Enter the building via the parking
garage entrance (for those walking to the meeting, please
note that the normal front entrance to the building is often locked
by 7:00PM - so you need to walk through the parking garage
entrance to get in). See below for detailed maps and pictures.
FROM I-95 SOUTHBOUND:
Exit 7 - Atlantic Street. Follow service road (North State
Street) to Atlantic Street where you will make a right turn.
Keep to right, proceed two blocks and make a right turn on
Tresser Blvd. Keep to right on Tresser Blvd., past Canal Street,
then make a right turn into the lane for the Stamford Marriott.
The club is located at One Stamford Plaza, the building directly
to the east of the Stamford Marriott hotel. Once in the Marriott
lane, make a left into the Stamford Plaza parking garage (the
Marriott driveway will be on your right). Park on the first
level. If you arrive after 6:00 pm there is a reduced flat
rate parking charge of $3.00.
FROM I-95 NORTHBOUND:
Exit 8 - Atlantic Street. At light at end of ramp from exit
make a left onto Atlantic Street. Keep to right, proceed two
blocks and make a right turn on Tresser Blvd. Keep to right
on Tresser Blvd., past Canal Street, then make a right turn
into the lane for the Stamford Marriott. The club is located
at One Stamford Plaza, the building directly to the east of
the Stamford Marriott hotel. Once in the Marriott lane, make
a left into the Stamford Plaza parking garage (the Marriott
driveway will be on your right). Park on the first level.
If you arrive after 6:00 pm there is a reduced flat rate parking
charge of $3.00 for the evening.
ALTERNATE PARKING:
Stamford Town Center - Tresser Blvd. If you don't mind
walking a few extra minutes, you can park in the garage
of the mall, it will cost you $0.50 for two hours.
Or if you park outside in front of Filene's, at the intersection of
Tresser and Greyrock, parking will be FREE (assuming you can
get a spot!). Either way, walk over to the Equity Building
and enter through the garage. The main entrance is locked around
6 PM.
ONCE YOU'RE IN THE BUILDING . . .
If you enter through entrance across from the Marriott
the entrance to the building is a few feet beyond the garage attendant
to the left. Otherwise, the door to Stamford Plaza is located at the north end of the garage. If the door is locked (which occasionally happens after 6:30 PM), press the button for the intercom on the left. Tell them you are
there for the Toastmasters meeting, and they should let you right in.
Once inside the building, take the elevator to the second floor, exit the elevator to the right and you'll see double doors on your left with the label
"Community Room".
If prefer not to take the elevator, when you first
walk in from the first floor of the garage, bear to your left and
walk up the stairs to the second floor. The "Community Room" will be
straight ahead and to the right, between the top of the stairs and the elevators.
This is the room where the club meets from 7 PM to 9 PM.
People generally arrive between 6:40 and 7:00 to help setup the room for the meeting. Setting up the room is key to starting our meetings on time, and perhaps more importantly ending on time!
Usually, there is a sign posted on the door indicating Toastmasters.
If you should arrive after 7:00, please be as quiet as possible upon
entering so as not to disturb the speakers.
