The Big Picture

The Stamford Chapter is one of more than 9,300 clubs in the worldwide organization known as Toastmasters International (TI), with over 195,000 members and counting. It has distinct chapters in more than 80 countries, a total that is growing every year.

Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization founded in 1924 in California, by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley. Toastmasters begins with the member, and then rolls up into a hierarchy from club, to area, to division, to district, to region and finally to TI.

The Stamford Chapter is a club in District 53, which encompasses all of Connecticut, Eastern New York, and Western Massachusetts. More than 100 clubs are represented in District 53.

Toastmasters is the only non-profit organization dedicated to improving the public speaking abilities of members worldwide.Check out the links below to find additional information about other clubs, our district or our region.
